MACINTOSH Video presentation (thanks to Franky):

was January of 1984, there was the Super Bowl (the final of the U.S. American football) on TV and, as usual, for the detachment had prepared a number of companies advertising their best spot to be sent seguitissimo aired in that range and very expensive. Among them was a computer company in growth, which had already placed a couple of commercial successes in the last period but had also collected a few failures: it was Apple Computer.

After the phenomenal launch of the Apple II in 1977, the company founded by Jobs and Wozniak (with the help of Ron Wayne dark) was preparing to launch the first personal computer with a mouse and graphical interface windows designed for the masses was the Macintosh. To present it had already hired the renowned British director Ridley Scott, who was appointed director of a commercial that has passed into history: a blonde young woman swept away by hammering the giant image of Big Brother.

The idea, he says, was to Jobs and - needless to say - Big Brother was the then Apple Computer judged his arch enemy: IBM. Over the years things have gradually changed, and indeed for many years, Mac has worked with a chip produced by the same Big Blue. The peculiarity of the Mac is perhaps this: it is passed unscathed through 25 years, keeping intact its spirit innovator, and reincarnation from time to time to accommodate changes in industry hardware and software.

Today the Macintosh is only part of the multibillion-dollar business of a company called Apple only, and that left the word computer a few years ago. On the Mac it is still the task, which his detractors like it or not, to establish the benchmark for aesthetics and functionality of all PCs made in the world is happening with Linux, with the owner of Canonical pointing to the features and the simplicity of the Mac OS and Windows happens to that in the beta of Seven, establishing a new taskbar in some ways reminiscent of the OSX Dock.

The Mac was created in 1979, but it took 5 years of development to arrive on store shelves. It had cost $ 500, ended up being sold at a price of just under 2,500. Was equipped with a processor from the Motorola 68K series of 8MHz, 128KB RAM (expandable to 512KB), a 3.5 inch floppy and incorporated into a small chassis, a 9-inch monitor in black and white. Were also included MacWrite and MacPaint. Since then many versions have followed, some with more success than others, all or nearly all of them are always able to carve out a niche in the hearts of fans of the brand of Cupertino.
